Robert Pass, automotive enthusiast and entrepreneur, has
shifted gears. He has gone from shipping valuable cars to
collecting, buying, selling and trading them. In 1970, Pass
founded Passport Transport, Ltd., the first auto transportation
company in the U.S. specializing in the enclosed shipment of
antique, classic and racecars. Pass's company developed
special trailers to service the needs of the collector car
enthusiast. He built a thriving business and national
reputation in the auto racing and collector industries.
In 2000, Pass sold Passport Transportation to Fed Ex,
and remained with the company as a senior advisor
until 2005.
Robert Pass continues to pursue his passion for collecting classic autos and has formed a company to buy and sell
special vehicles.
Along with his business opportunities, Robert pursues
charitable interests with several organizations. He serves on the Advisory Committee for the Museum of Transport in
St. Louis County. Pass also serves as president of the Auburn
Cord Duesenberg Museum in Auburn, Indiana. This museum,
of the automotive heritage, honored Pass in 2002 with the
introduction of its latest gallery, the Robert M. Pass Gallery
of Special Topics.
In addition, Robert serves on the Board of Directors
of the European Auto Show in St. Louis, benefiting Shriners Hospital.
